LIUNA Training and our North American affiliates are recognized leaders in environmental remediation training. Few organizations can match the scope, experience, and response to environmental hazards, natural and man-made disasters and worker/public protection.
LIUNA Trained workers have been involved in the Exxon Valdez spill, the Columbia Shuttle disaster recovery, the World Trade Centers and the Anthrax cleanup. They have worked remediation and reconstruction from Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Wilma, and Sandy, as well as Ebola worker training.
We live in a world that has seen a substantial increase of hazards that pose a threat to our health and environment. Hazardous waste from manufacturing, lead and asbestos in building materials, nuclear contamination, and biological hazards have created problems that will continue to effect future generations.
The dedicated men and women of LIUNA put their lives on the line to remediate hazards and respond to disasters to protect communities across North America. With government regulation in place to protect workers, LIUNA Training develops programs that meet and often exceed mandated regulations.
LIUNA Training’s accredited curriculum is continually updated to meet the changing needs of the environmental remediation industry.
Course content is comprehensive to ensure that workers know how to recognize hazards; understand health risks and their effects; safely handle materials; correctly use personal protective equipment; perform worksite monitoring; and know hazard communications and worker legal rights. All courses include extensive hands-on exercises that simulate the job site and allow students to practice work tasks while becoming familiar with personal protective equipment.
Our Environmental Remediation courses are listed to the right. Course offerings and schedules vary by geographic location and the needs of the particular marketplace. For information about what LIUNA Training offers in your area, find a training center near you.
